ajanabii lagane lage khud tumhen apanaa hii vajuud
apane din raat ko itanaa bhii akelaa na karo

khvaab bachchon ke khilaunon kii tarah hote hain
khvaab dekhaa na karo khvaab dikhaayaa na karo

be-khayaalii men kabhii ungaliyaan jal jaayengii
raakh guzare hue lamhon kii kuredaa na karo

mom ke rishte hain garmii se pighal jaayenge
dhuup ke shahar men 'Aazer' ye tamaashaa na karo

varnaa chehare ke taasur se samajh jaayenge
chaahe kuchh bhii ho savaalaat na karanaa unase

Jo pahle thaa vo ab manzar nahiin hai
Hamaaraa ghar hamaaraa ghar nahiin hai

Mere kaaNdhoN pe meraa sar hai lekin
Kisii ke haath meN patthar nahiin hai

Faraat-e-zindagii itnaa samajh le
YahaaN ko’ii Ali Asghar nahiin hai

Mahaktii Hain Bahut Yaadon Kii Fasiilen
Hamaaraa zehn ab banjar nahiiN hai

(fasiil : a low wall; zehn : mind; banjar : uninhabited)

Jise dekho use baahar se dekho
Ko’ii bhii zaat ke andar nahiiN hai

(zaat : self, being)

Tumhen ye jang Khud laRnii paRegii
Abaabiilon kaa ab lashkar nahiiN hai

(abaabiil : A kind of small bird)

Simat hii jaayeNge paaNv hamaare
Magar ham kyaa kareN, chaadar nahiiN hai

Tamannaa but-garii kii kyaa ho puurii
Tumhaare shah’r meN “Aazer” nahiiN hai

(but-garii : idol worship)

Daaman-E-Shauq Mein Masle Huye Phuulon Kii Tarah


daaman-e-shauq meN masle hu’e phuulon kii tarah
zindagii hai kisii muflis ke usuulon kii tarah

(daaman : lap; shauq : desire; masle : crushed; phuul : flowers; muflish : destitute; usuul :

principles)

aaj bhii dhuup ke jangal mein hamaare saaye
naachte phirte hain be-fikr baguulon kii tarah

(dhuup : sunshine; be-fikr : carefree; baguule : crane)

vahii Firaun, vahii tannur ke maqtal, vahii daar
ham bhii is daur mein jiite hain rasuuloN kii tarah

(Firaun : The cruel Pharaoh at the time of Moses;  maqtal : slaughter-house; daar : gallows; daur : era; rasuul : prophet)

ko’ii mausam hii na badlaa ke kisii se kahte
hasrateN suukh gayii dil mein babuulon kii tarah

(hasrateN : desires; babuul : acacia)

haadise ham pe jo guzre the kabhii ai “Aazer”
yaad aate hain magar sirf maquuloN kii tarah

(haadise : accidents; maquuloN : like proverbs)

Ghataaon Kii Udaasii Pii Rahaa Huun


Ghataaon kii udaasii pii rahaa huun
Main ek gehraa samandar ban gayaa huun

Terii yaadon ke angaaron ko aksar
Tasavvur ke labon ko chuumtaa huun

(tasavvur : imagination)

Ko_ii pehchaan-ne vaalaa nahiin hai
Bhare baazaar mein tanhaa khaRaa huun

Meraa qad kitnaa uunchaa ho gayaa hai
Falak kii vus’aton ko naaptaa huun

(qad : stature; falak : heaven; vus’at : expansion; naaptaa : measure)

Vo yuun mujhko bhulaanaa chaahte hain
Ke jaise main bhii ko’ii haadisaa huun

(haadisaa : event)

Badalte mausamon kii diary se
Tere baare mein aksar puuchtaa huun

Kisii kii yaad ke patton ko “Aazer”
Havaaon se bachaa kar rakh rahaa huun

Tanhaaii Kii Galii Mein Havaaon Kaa Shor Thaa


tanhaa_ii kii galii meN havaaoN kaa shor thaa
aaNkhoN meN so rahaa thaa andheraa thakaa hu’aa

barsoN se chal rahaa hai ko’ii mere saath saath
hai kaun kaash us se maiN ek baar puuchtaa

dil meN utar ke bujh gayii yaadoN kii chaaNdnii
aaNkhoN meN intizaar kaa suuraj pighal gayaa

choRhii hai un kii chaah to ab lag rahaa hai yuuN
jaise maiN itne roz andheroN meN qaid thaa

maiN ne zaraa sii baat kahii thii mazaaq meN
tumne zaraa sii baat ko itnaa baRhaa liyaa

kamre meN phailtaa rahaa cigarette kaa dhuuaaN
maiN band khiRkiyoN kii taraf dekhtaa rahaa

“Aazer” ye kis kii simt baRhe jaa rahe haiN log
is shah’r meN to mere sivaa ko’ii bhii na thaa
